Welcome to the Church Steelpan Project

Resources for Integrating Steelpan

into Christian Worship Service

Welcome to the Church Steelpan Project. Here you will find a website dedicated to supporting the use of steelpans and steelbands in Christian worship services. The site offers resources for musicians interested in bringing steelpans and steelpan music into worship service, including resources for arranging sacred music for steelbands, sheet music, audio and video examples, and much more.

The Church Steelpan Project is based on the work of local church musicians based in the Caribbean region. Within the context of the Christian Church in the Caribbean, steelpans and steelbands serve various important roles, including spiritual ministry, weekly/daily service enhancement, recruitment of youth into congregation life and activities, celebration of Caribbean heritage, community (outside of congregation) engagement, fundraising for congregation et large, religious education, and music education.

Explore the website for more information on how you can integrate the steelpan and steelband into your own worship service.
